Proper method to Grip a bow

Points to keep in Mind

- You should feel weight of drawn bow centered against meaty part of thumb
- Fingers should just lightly touch front of bow and be pointing 45 degrees to level
ground. (if done properly bow will level itself 90 degrees to the ground)
- Thumb cutout in grip is for reference only, do not apply pressure.
- Heel part of hand should not touch grip.
- Your wrist should be slightly broken towards the bow. ( the best way to understand
this is to use the throttle on movement like you would on a motorcycle.)
- You should be able to put your index finger between grip and palm of hand on left side
of bow for right hand shooters, opposite for left hand shooters.
- Do not open hand bow as the tendency to grab during shot is high
- Balance bow so it will level and then slowly tip forward (consider it takes approx. 1/12
of a second for arrow to clear bow. You what absolutely no movement during this
period).
