Help with limb question

Postby cyclepath on Sat May 01, 2010 1:41 pm

I am wanting to get a recurve for a friends birthday and have found one I like which would be perfect for him. It is a bear kodiac magnum. 52" with a 45# draw weight. I see one problem with the bow that has me worried. The limbs have stress lines in them, only a couple but still. Is this bow worth buying or should I steer clear of it? There are no cracks in the thing or delamination. What's your take on this, thanks all.

I see quite a few people have come in and looked at this topic but nobody has given any feedback on it. Where are all the recurve shooters :(

should be ok as i have seen many of the shorter bear bows with stress lines like the supermag 48 and still shooting at 30" draw

The bow is fine. All that is, is the fibers in the glass stretching. It is common, even in new bows. Good luck Jim :-)->
