Yes, they have been around for quite a while now. Almost went under a year or so ago then suddenly popped back up. I never really cared for the draw cycle and they styling seemed to lack something but a lot of people liked them.

A bow with that little letoff would be dangerous to try to use; several different kinds of things could happen when you released the arrow and all but one of them would be bad.

Guys at B&B, the largest archery shop in the D.C. region, told me they took a look at the thing, viewed it as too dangerous to sell, and sent it back whence it came.

Now you have said a few times, that it has almost no valley. Any compound bow with let-off, must have a valley. Low let-off, a not so deep valley. High let-off - deep valley. So that your statement I don't understand. I'd like to see a draw-force curve for one of these bows, with 99% let-off.

Why would it be dangerous to shoot a bow with 99% let-off?

What would be the purpose of shooting a bow with 99% let-off? Ok, people who can't hold too many pounds at full draw, could of course benefit from it - but yet: 50# peak, 99% let-off means 0,5# holding weight! It shouldn't be necessary to go that far down.
